i'm back!

So I haven't blogged in a good 8/9 months, but I plan to in the future. I planned 2012 to be the best year ever and sadly it has been quite the opposite! Anyway, I have felt a little inspired to get back at it after I started reading Bel's blog :)

T-shirt: Topshop || Leggings: American Apparel || Waistcoat: H&M || Bag: eBay
Watch: Fossil || Bracelet: Pandora

This is an outfit I would probably wear to uni or something, I haven't been up to much today so it's been nice to just wear something super comfy, although not the most flattering. I really love this little pleather waistcoat I got a few weeks back from H&M it really adds an edginess!
I can't seem to locate the t-shirt on the Topshop website but I only bought it yesterday so it should definitely be in store.

Hope to be back soon!

Rose Skirt

Skirt - Topshop
Body (worn as top) - New Look
Scarf - New Look

I'm so sad that I haven't posted on here in so long, but I've just gone back to uni and all the work has caught up with me! Anyway I'm back and very happy with my new skirt from the Topshop sale (£36 to £15). It's a lovely rose colour in a thick flannel material, it fits perfect and I wish I ordered the camel coloured one before they sold out! We still have a fair few cold months (ergh british weather) so I'm sure I'll get a fair bit of use out of it.
Here I've just paired it with an old black body from New Look which I get a fair amount of use out as I hate when tops roll up under skirts and you have to keep pulling them down and tucking your top back in. Hoping to get a few more soon but barely ever go to New Look and don't particularly like the website - hard to see if the garment will look nice when its modelled by a headless person...

Oh and like everyone, I have been amazed by the Office sale where I've got two lovely pairs of shoes :) I've actually forgotten to photograph my grey boots but below are my starry night black suede platforms! Reduced from £65 to £20 and fit like a dreaaaam!
I'm toying with the idea of flatforms for day use but not a hundred percent - what's your experience with them?

#5 Iris Apfel for MAC

L-R: Please me, Scarlet Ibis, Barcelona Red

After seeing much hype on Twitter about the limited editions of Iris Apfel lipsticks for MAC, I headed straight to the website to have a look for myself - and was pleasantly suprised! The whole range is full of bright colours and does vary out of lipsticks also.
Initially I wanted Flamingo, which is described online as a light milky bright coral, but it was sold out along with Party Parrot and Pink Pigeon (this may have changed since I was on the site) so I went for Scarlet Ibis - which is now sold out - a very bright orange-red! The finish on this colour is my personal favourite, matte and lasts an awful long time! Its easy to apply and gives such a statement effect!
This is only my third MAC lipstick, but in comparison (see second photo) is the brightest I own. Sadly I think its a little too bright for everyday and popping to Tesco but I will definately be getting a lot of use of this colour when going out.. which sadly means it will end up the same shape as my go-to shade of Please me :(
So so so happy with it and have my fingers crossed for the rest of the shades to come back into stock so I can get them all (if anyone has reviewed Flamingo or Morange please link!)

Oh and while I'm here.. I ordered a pair of Cornflower blue skinnies from ASOS and cannot decide whether to keep them or not so opinions are much appreciated! :)

#4 Crochet Dress

Dress - River Island
Belt - New Look
Necklace (only top photo) - Topshop
This is a recent sale purchase from about 2 weeks ago which was down to about £15 and comes with the same colour slip underneath which I actually use for similar colour dresses - so double bargain!
Some may notice that I'm wearing a necklace in the top and not the rest, meerly because I forgot to put it on untill I'd nearly finished taking photos... and have now realised I'm not wearing my watch either..
I now have three dresses by the Chelsea Girl range within River Island which I feel are super cute and easy to wear! The only issue with this one is that it appears really warm but the crochet means there's a large amount of holes so when I do leave the house I would probably pair it with a boyfriend fit black blazer :)
Really happy with this and my other sale purchases - have you got anything decent in the sales?

#3 Black and nude

Jumper - Urban Outfitters
Skirt - Topshop
Scarf - Urban Outfitters
Nails - Models Own 'Peach Sherbert'
Woah, so I haven't blogged in a real long time. I'm going to blame Christmas, New Year and the huge pile of work and revision building up...
So anyway, I really wanted to start putting OOTD posts on here but whenever I had time (or decent light) I wasn't wearing anything of interest. I'm sad to say that this was one of those days. I only had to pop to work for about an hour so wanted something comfy but still, y'know, work-able(?) but have now noticed how much my skirt has ridden up in these photos!!
Sadly nothing that I am wearing is new but I love this Urban Outfitters jumper so much that I have in blue aswell and was my first ever purchase within the Bristol store when it first opened :) It's really thin and super soft but sadly going bobbly over too many washes :(
And finally, I love love love this nail colour! After first getting it and having doubts about it, I have now painted it onto false nails which I feel gives it a much cleaner look. What do you reckon?

#2 Favourite Boots

'Acorn' Boots - ASOS
Right, so I bought these about a month ago now after a long time of looking at Chelsea boots and thinking should I? shouldn't I?
But when I found these on ASOS, I couldn't say no at all - even at £65 (minus student discount)! I totally do not regret it as they are my all time favourite and actually fairly comfortable. They're real leather so not only do they smell incredibly good, but they will last a good amount of time. The tan colour goes with pretty much everything and really makes jeans look less scruffy :) The only negative I could possibly say about them is how they are so rounded upon the front (see below) and you kind of rock forward on them?
All in all, I love them and am trying to hold myself back from buying the velvet editions (either in green or indigo) which are both on sale at £45.50!!

#1 Wishlist

Shoes - Misguided
Playsuit - Topshop
Naked 2 Pallette - Not on sale till Jan '12 :(
Arm Cuff - Topshop
Lipstick - Mac
Charms - Both Pandora

With this being my first ever post, I thought I should start off by showing what I am currently lusting after - possibly even showing what sort of style I am into (when I finally get readers haha!)
Slipper Shoes: I'm one of those people who always wears boots in the winter and sandals in the summer but feel I need to step out into something like these beauties! I saw a pair similar in Topshop but was having major sizing issues so I gave up but have since seen these on Misguided at just a snippet of the price! :)
Playsuit: I wanted this so bad, and when I was in London was set on scouting it out to try before I bought. I couldn't find it for the life of me and ended up checking online where I found out it was sold out. Shame.
Naked 2 Pallette: I wanted the original but just couldn't bring myself to buy it - wonder if I'll even part with the money to buy this one either...
Arm Cuff: Sadly just a wish... not particularly a fan of my chubby arms, let alone making them look constricted in this!
Lipstick: Fell in love with this a while back but got distracted by yet more colours and totally forgot to buy it. Maybe for Christmas?
Charms: They remind me of giant studs - need I say more?!

Well there's my first post.. hope to get more into this and get some more of my own pictures on!
Ellie :)
